Welcome to the website of ViaVia Copán! ViaVia Copán is located in the centre of Copán Ruinas, at 1,5 blocks from the central park.
Don’t be mistaken by the size of our little town, there’s plenty to discover! The famous UNESCO World Heritage Maya ruins of Copán are just 10 minutes away. Here you will find yourself surrounded by green hills, so get out and enjoy some stunning views of the sacred valley of the scarlet macaw. You might even come across one of the scarlet macaws, flying freely in the Copán valley!

At ViaVia Copán you can enjoy fantastic breakfasts and amazing local or international dishes. We offer delicious meals, of which 80 % vegetarian but easily adaptable for meatlovers. Our menu has a variety of nachos, soup, baleadas, spaghetti and hamburgers, you can check it out below!
Every day we have a different specialities menu with worldfood. You can choose from typical Honduran dishes, Indonesian or Belgian food, salads, pastas, sandwiches and so on!

Our bar is opened until 12:00 PM, so stop by for weekly Salsa lessons, movie nights or a fine Belgian beer!
Daily HAPPY HOUR from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 2×1 on ALL OUR COCTAILS WITH RUM, VODKA, GIN and TEQUILA! And for the beer fans… you should definitely try our BEER MOJITO, simply delicious!
Our hotel has 5 private rooms, all with private bathroom, hot water and fan.
The price for a double room is only US$ 10/night (US$ 5 pp.!)

Copán Awakening Hike (US$ 15)
A beautiful morning hike into the mountains around the valley. Guaranteed beautiful views of the valley in combination with interesting stories about Copán and its maya-ruins.
Copán Cultural Hike (US$ 20)
The cultural hike takes you out of Copán ruinas to a beautiful, indigenous maya chorti village. You’ll learn about the daily lives of these people and visit ‘los sapos’. Moreover you’ll be amazed by information about the history and the culture of this region and you’ll enjoy the nature.
Copán Alternative Hike (US$ 10)
This special hike is only available for groups of 6 people or more.
The alternative hike is a unique view behind the scenes of the daily life in a town in a third-world country. Tourists usually don’t get to see these issues, but you’ll learn about the disparities between rich and poor, the economical and shadow-economical issues of Honduras and much more. Also this tour sponsors a very special educational project: ‘Nacho para todos’. Ask about it in ViaVia!
Copán Expedition Hike (US$ 45)
Our expedition hike is a full day hiking in the mountains of Copán deep into the hills and of the beaten track. This is for experienced hikers only! Includes transport and lunch.
- Macaw Mountain (US$ 10)
Macaw Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in Copán Ruinas! This botanical garden is also a Bird Sanctuary. Immerse yourself in this beautiful environment while you relax, learn about birds or plants, eat something in their restaurant or even get some work done enjoying their own coffee! If you want to you can also swim in a natural swimming pool. Basecamp includes free transport (one way) and your ticket is valid for three days.
- Canopy Tours (US$ 45)
Get an adrenaline rush, whizzing down a whopping 16 zip-lines. Not only will you reach a high speed, you will also see the valley from a unique height! This experience includes transport (both ways), competent guides, all safety equipment and the entrance to Macaw Mountain, their neighbours.
- Horseback Riding (US$ 15)
Go horseback riding with a charismatic Spanish speaking guide! He’ll take you for a 3 hour ride, through rivers and mountains on the back of calm horses. You’ll take a little break in La Pintada, a maya village up in the mountains. After this he will take you back to Copán Ruinas where you will arrive amazed and satisfied.
- Luna Jaguar Spa – Hot Springs (US$ 22)
Luna Jaguar Spa, more commonly known as ‘the Hot Springs’ in Aguas Calientes, are the best place to relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon. In a common area of 2 pools and a private area of 15 pools you can try out baths of different temperatures, a mud bath or you can take a massage. A shuttlebus (see further) will take you there at 1pm and you’ll be back at your hotel at 6pm. You won’t need to worry about anything! Includes your entrance in both areas and the transport.

ViaVia Copán is located in Copán Ruinas, in the hills of Western-Honduras.
At only 15 min. from the Guatemalan border, Copán Ruinas is easy to reach from Guatamala.
From Guatemala-City or Antigua
Take a CAT-shuttle bus, leaving Antigua ($25) at 4 AM or Guatemala-City at 5 AM ($25). The drive to Copán takes about 6 hours.
Or by local transport (Chickenbus), Antigua – Guatemala City – Chiquimula – El Florido (border) – Copan.
This takes about 8 hours.
From San Pedro Sula
Take the direct bus Hedman Alas (3 hours) or the 2nd class local buses from Casasola Express (3,5 hours, ~ $7)
