* Facultad de Ingeniería: seat in Paseo Colón: this building, from the middle of the twentieth century, was built by the Foundation María Eva Duarte de Perón, but its founder died in 1952 and she never used her offices. After the Presidency of Juan Domingo Perón, the building was reformed as a Faculty of the University of Buenos Aires. The construction is a replica of the building of the Faculty of law in Recoleta, in a monumental and neo-classical style, typical for that time.

* El viejo Almacén: this old department store was built in the year 1798. In 1969 it was purchased by the famous tango vocalist Edmundo Rivero and changed it into one of the most important tango city halls.

* La casa Mínima: with less than 2.5 metres frontage, from the beginning of the 19 century, this building is known as the narrowest house in the city.

* Pasaje San Lorenzo: the majority of the buildings flanking the two blocks of this street date back to the middle of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th. In this street you can visit the Gallery Los Patios de San Telmo (now owned by a Fleming), a typical house from the 18th century, with artists ‘ studios and artists.

* Mercado de San Telmo: buy antiques, or toys from days gone by, mangoes from Formosa, special spices, Patagonian pâté or drink a coffee. It’s all possible on this one place: the fair of San Telmo. Incredible how the spirit of the first markets here is preserved in Buenos Aires. Minutes of the Obelisk, with typical Italian facades and spacious interiors, this market is a must both for the residents of the area as for the hundreds of daily tourists.

* Plaza Dorrego: this iswhere the street market takes place every Sunday in San Telmo and is one of the most walking destinations of the inhabitants of Buenos Aires. Numerous sales stalls give this place an air of sophisticated antique flea market. Located in the middle of the San Telmo district, many of these houses from the 19th century transformed into cafés and antique shops (typical for the street Defensa) or created one. The bars put tables on the street and it is one of the most artistic environments of the city. The Plaza is of historical importance because, here in 1816 to the people of Buenos Aires announced that several months before independence was already in Tucumán was proclaimed.

*Workshop Empanadas: Our chef Gabriel will cook with you and you will learn how to make typical Argentine empanadas, from their dough to the typical fillings with fresh and organic ingredients from our own garden located in Lujan, Gaucho Verde. After preparing them, you can have lunch on the Viavia terrace with an exquisite Mendoza wine or an Argentine sangria.

Our ViaVia is located in the magnificent colonial city of Ayachucho, at 2800 meters in the Andes.

The city has an historic centre with over 33 colonial churches, mansions and a beautiful Plaza de Armas .

Moreover, it is known for its abundance of handicraft (fabrics, ceramics, stone sculpture of Huamanga) and its richness in music and folk festivals. Visit the craft market of Sha Negaso or the central market 28 Julio to find crafts and local products. Do not miss out on the Museum of Memory to find out more about the 1980s conflict. Take a look at the retablo museum Casa Museo Joaquín López Antay or follow one of their workshops.

In addition to its beautiful landscapes, Ayacucho and its surrounding area offer culture, history, adventure sports and much more:

Quinua (1 hour)

On the road to Quinua you can find the archaeological remains of Wari and its museum. This heartwarming village of Quinua is inhabited by some masters of ceramic crafts. In Quinua’s pampa you can admire the obelisk, which represents the battle of independence, and you can discover the eucalyptus forest by horse. When you leave Quinua, you can visit the thermal baths of Colpa in Acos Vinchos, where you can make a beautiful walk towards a waterfall.

Huanta (1 hour)

La Esmeralda de los Andes (The Emerald of the Andes) is another way to refer to the charming city of Huanta. On the road you can visit the Pikimachay cave where you can find the remains of the first humans. Huanta is known for its pleasant climate, ancient mansions and the Convento Sagrado Corazón de Jesús and its watchtower. Don’t forget to taste the “cuy chactado” (guinea pig) in one of the Luricocha resorts.

Bosque de Piedras de Huaraca (1.5 hours)

This wonderful place is located at an altitude of 4000 metros. Here you can find hundred of rock formations of incongruous shapes, which are believed to be shaped by the wind and rain. After a fascinating walk, you will reach a lagoon, ideal for a picnic or camping.

Aguas Circamarca (2,5 hours)

Circamarca’s clear blue water has been a well-kept secret. Be one of the first to discover its dazzling lagoons and peaceful nature.

Vilcashuaman (2,5 hours)

Vilcashuaman treasures a colonial church built on top of the Inca ruins. Half an hour away you will find the archaeological Intihuatana complex, which is located next to the Pumacocha lagoon. Its most surprising feature is the bathroom infrastructure, made out of polished stones and perfectly connected to a system of canals for the circulation of water, which is still in operation. The woods of Puya raimondii (el bosque de puyas de Raymondi) in Titankayocc are also definitely worthwhile.

Cangallo (2 hours)

Half an hour before arriving at Cangallo, you stumble upon Huahuapuquio’s carbonated water, where you can swim in a pool with spectacular views. The Qorimaqma waterfall is a stunning cascade, which squeezes itself through natural rock walls.

Razhuilca (2 hours)

Apu Razuhuillca is located in the north of the Huanta region, north of Ayacucho. The mountain has a height of more than 5000m and used to be always covered in snow. However, recently the snow has disappeared … The mountain hides rivers and lagoons, like the Razuhuillca lagoon, but also llamas and alpacas that enjoy nature’s peacefulness.

Don’t be mistaken by the size of our little town, there’s plenty to discover! The famous UNESCO World Heritage Maya ruins of Copán are just 10 minutes away. Here you will find yourself surrounded by green hills, so get out and enjoy some stunning views of the sacred valley of the scarlet macaw. You might even come across one of the scarlet macaws, flying freely in the Copán valley!

Copán Awakening Hike (US$ 15)
A beautiful morning hike into the mountains around the valley. Guaranteed beautiful views of the valley in combination with interesting stories about Copán and its maya-ruins.

Copán Cultural Hike (US$ 20)
The cultural hike takes you out of Copán ruinas to a beautiful, indigenous maya chorti village. You’ll learn about the daily lives of these people and visit ‘los sapos’. Moreover you’ll be amazed by information about the history and the culture of this region and you’ll enjoy the nature.

Copán Alternative Hike (US$ 10)
This special hike is only available for groups of 6 people or more.
The alternative hike is a unique view behind the scenes of the daily life in a town in a third-world country. Tourists usually don’t get to see these issues, but you’ll learn about the disparities between rich and poor, the economical and shadow-economical issues of Honduras and much more. Copán Expedition Hike (US$ 45)
Our expedition hike is a full day hiking in the mountains of Copán deep into the hills and of the beaten track. This is for experienced hikers only! Includes transport and lunch.

• Macaw Mountain (US$ 10)

Macaw Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in Copán Ruinas! This botanical garden is also a Bird Sanctuary. Immerse yourself in this beautiful environment while you relax, learn about birds or plants, eat something in their restaurant or even get some work done enjoying their own coffee! If you want to you can also swim in a natural swimming pool. Basecamp includes free transport (one way) and your ticket is valid for three days.

• Canopy Tours (US$ 45)

Get an adrenaline rush, whizzing down a whopping 16 zip-lines. Not only will you reach a high speed, you will also see the valley from a unique height! This experience includes transport (both ways), competent guides, all safety equipment and the entrance to Macaw Mountain, their neighbours.

• Horseback Riding (US$ 15)

Go horseback riding with a charismatic Spanish speaking guide! He’ll take you for a 3 hour ride, through rivers and mountains on the back of calm horses. You’ll take a little break in La Pintada, a maya village up in the mountains. After this he will take you back to Copán Ruinas where you will arrive amazed and satisfied.

• Luna Jaguar Spa – Hot Springs (US$ 22)

Luna Jaguar Spa, more commonly known as ‘the Hot Springs’ in Aguas Calientes, are the best place to relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon. In a common area of 2 pools and a private area of 15 pools you can try out baths of different temperatures, a mud bath or you can take a massage. A shuttlebus (see further) will take you there at 1pm and you’ll be back at your hotel at 6pm. You won’t need to worry about anything! Includes your entrance in both areas and the transport.

At only 15 min. from the Guatemalan border, Copán Ruinas is easy to reach from Guatamala.

From Guatemala-City or Antigua

Take a CAT-shuttle bus, leaving Antigua ($25) at 4 AM or Guatemala-City at 5 AM ($25). The drive to Copán takes about 6 hours.

Or by local transport (Chickenbus), Antigua – Guatemala City – Chiquimula – El Florido (border) – Copan.

This takes about 8 hours.

From San Pedro Sula

Take the direct bus Hedman Alas (3 hours) or the 2nd class local buses from Casasola Express (3,5 hours, ~ $7)
